Starting out a bit later on this post, but the day got away from me! We had some rain in the morning which always puts me in a calm mood. So, I took advantage of the quiet steadiness and sat down with my coffee until mid afternoon.

Our weekend was filled with equal parts down time and fun time! We relaxed and spent some much needed “us time” most of Friday. I think we’ve gotten a bit off track when it comes to reminding ourselves to set some time and space for each other.

We had SO MUCH time together in a small capacity for so long I think we got out of the habit of intentionally making time. I promise we love each other so don’t take this the wrong way because, honestly we are literally the couple that get’s sad about spending a day or two away from the other (Ugh I know, we’re obnoxious. ☺) But, I think we were starting to feel like we were just sitting on top of each other.

To be fair; one room, two people, and two cats is a little much for anybody. We needed some space once we moved into the new house. It felt good to “stretch our legs” even if that just meant I could go into another room while he played video games for the night.

But, I have noticed we’ve been off our usual rhythm lately. Some quality time to talk, and let’s be real here- hash things out, was definitely what we needed to start getting back on track. I’ve found that just sitting there feeling unappreciated or valued or watching someone feel that way instead of actually doing something about it, does little good. Plus these hormones make it hard to keep anything in these days, haha!

Healthy relationships take constant attention to detail. As well as honesty about about you find. “It’s a slow fade” as the popular Casting Crowns song goes and i’ll be damned if I let my marriage and best friend get away from me that quickly!

Well, I was going to tell you a bit about the crazy schedule we have this week (Lot’s of exciting things coming up) but my fingers just took off and bam… here we are! I love it when God has something more to say and the “editor” in me let’s go and let’s Him take over.

Don’t worry i’ll be back tomorrow to fill you in on the busy week ahead!
